The Supreme Court heard arguments this week in former President Trump’s immunity case. The former President’s attorney D. John Sauer argued that a President should be immune from prosecution when it pertains to “official acts” of the office. The Department of Justice has argued that creating presidential immunity would create a slippery slope, encouraging future presidents to commit crimes without fear of persecution.
